Did you know businesses reward your child for learning. We know getting your child to read can be challenging, especially in the summer time.

  • Grades: K–6

📚 2. Barnes & Noble Summer Reading Program

  • Grades: 1–6

  • Reward: Free book from a pre-selected list

  • How to Join: Fill out a reading journal with 8 books and turn it in

🐶 3. Scholastic Summer Reading Home Base

  • Grades: PreK–8

  • Reward: Digital badges, online games, potential book giveaways

  • How to Join: Register on Scholastic’s Home Base platform

🎓 4. Chuck E. Cheese Rewards Calendars

  • Subjects: Reading, kindness, chores, behavior, etc.

  • Reward: 10 free play points

  • How to Join: Download themed reward charts, complete them, and bring to a location

📖 5. Local libraries

  • How to Join: From June 2nd to August 31st Visit any Library in Howard County to get a gameboard

Why rewards work(for a limited time)

When children see their effort celebrated, they feel motivated and excited to keep learning. These programs turn practice into play, and make learning something kids want to do.




🎭 Bonus Learning Experience: Readers Theater at The Dreamers Kingdom Homeschool

Is your child having a rough time grasping the meaning of the texts and stories they read? Do they struggle with confidence?
